Card benefits
Auto Rental Collision Insurance
Get primary coverage on car rentals that you rent outside your country of residence.
Get secondary coverage on car rentals that you rent within your country of residence.
You will get coverage for cars rented for up to 31 days. You must pay for the rental with your Freedom Unlimited card in order to be eligible for coverage.
Extended Warranty Protection
Get up to a year of extended warranty on purchases you make. The original manufacturer’s warranty time on the purchase will be matched, up to a year, and max $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account.
You will only get coverage if the original warranty is for 3 years or less.
You must pay for at least part of the purchase with your Freedom Unlimited card in order to be eligible for coverage.
Purchase Protection
Get reimbursed for replacements and repairs, or just reimbursed for new purchases that are stolen or damaged within 120 days from the date of purchase.
Get a max of $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per year.
You must pay for at least part of the purchase with your Freedom Unlimited card in order to be eligible for coverage.
Roadside Assistance
Get help from a roadside assistance program when you call them. Services include standard towing for up to 5 miles, tire changing, jump start, lockout service, fuel delivery up to 5 gallons, and standard winching.
Each service has a fee.
You do not need to pre-enroll in order to be eligible for coverage.
Credits
Get $10 Instacart statement credits every quarter plus get a free Instacart+ membership for 3 months.
How points can be used
Cashback: The points you earn on the card can be used as cashback for 1 penny per point.
Chase Travel: You can get 1 penny per point for Chase Travel if you only have the Chase Freedom Unlimited.
If you also have the following cards then you can redeem your points for Chase Travel as follows:
- If you have the Sapphire Preferred or the Ink Preferred – transfer your points from your Freedom Unlimited card to one of these cards and then you can redeem 1.25 cents per point on Chase Travel, to book flights, car rentals, hotels, and more.
- If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve – transfer your points from your Freedom Unlimited card to this card and then you can redeem 1.5 cents per point on Chase Travel, to book flights, car rentals, hotels, and more.
Airline and hotel programs:
The points you earn on the card cannot be transferred directly to Chase Travel partners. If you have the following cards then you can transfer to travel partners as follows:
- If you have the Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, or the Ink Preferred – transfer your points to one of these cards and then you can transfer your points to airline and hotel partners as follows:

Pay Yourself Back
You can also Pay Yourself Back by paying for purchases on your card and offsetting the purchases with points. You can get 1.25 cents per point.
